Privacy Policy

StickIt is a tax deduction tracking app for Australians. To provide the service, we collect and process limited personal information — receipts you upload, expense records you create, and basic account details. This policy describes what we collect, why, and the rights you have over your data.

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information: your email address and basic profile details (occupation, employment type, income bracket) that you provide during onboarding.

Expense data: receipt images, merchant names, amounts, dates, GST values, working-from-home hours, and vehicle trip logs you record in the app.

Usage data: anonymous analytics about how the app is used, to help us improve it. We do not use this to identify you personally.

We use your information only to:

Provide the core service — reading receipts, categorising expenses against ATO rules, and generating your EOFY report; maintain and secure your account; send you product and tax-date reminders you have opted into; and improve the app through aggregated, de-identified analytics.

We never sell your personal information.

Your data is stored securely with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your records is protected by row-level security so that only you can access your own data. Receipt categorisation is performed by Anthropic’s Claude API; receipt content is sent for processing and is not used to train third-party models.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your account and associated data; and withdraw consent for optional communications at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

We share information only with service providers who help us operate the app — including our database and storage provider, our AI categorisation provider, and our email provider — and only to the extent necessary to deliver the service. These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law.

StickIt is a record-keeping and general guidance tool. It is not a registered tax agent and does not provide personal tax advice. Any categorisation, estimate, or report is a general guide only. You are responsible for the accuracy of your tax return. Consult a registered tax agent or the ATO for advice specific to your circumstances.
